The Coalition for the Needy is a group that advocates for people who are living in poverty in central Oklahoma. Members include representatives of agencies that serve low income persons, as well as organizational volunteers and advocates. Membership in the Coalition for the Needy is open to all interested parties. The Coalition for the Needy meets on the second Thursday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Meetings are held at The WestTown Resource Center, 1724 NW 4th Street.
Each month The WestTown Resource Center hosts “WestTown Workshops”. The Workshops cover topics such as “Helping Your Child Succeed in School”, “Healthy Relationships”, “Tenant Education”, “Parenting with Love and Logic”, “Psychology of Spending” etc. WestTown Workshops are brought to the clients of WestTown through collaboration of local nonprofits, businesses, and educators.
